SACP NWest shocked by allegations against China Dodovu

Party congratulates SAPS for their dedication in bringing killers of Obuti Chika to book

SACP NW: Statement on the arrest of the ANC Provincial Deputy Chairperson and the reclaiming of Tlokwe municipality by the ANC.

Political assassinations have no place in the 100 year old people's movement.

The SACP in the North West province is shocked and disappointed at the alleged involvement of the Deputy Chairperson of the ANC, and MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs in the killing of the Regional Secretary of Dr Kenneth Kaunda Cde Obuti Chika (see report).

We call on the law enforcement agencies to investigate this matter and leave no stone unturned in order to get to find the killers of Cde Chika. We will wait for the outcomes of the investigation and the prosecution before passing any judgment. It is deeply regrettable that the name of the people's movement, the ANC is being associated with such regressive and appalling events.

We congratulate the SAPS for their dedication and we urge them to work hard to ensure that the family of Cde Chika gets justice. They must do their job without fear or favour and ensure that all those involved be brought to book irrespective of stature or affiliation. The SACP would like to appeal to members of the alliance to separate acts of individuals from the ANC.

The ANC remains the trusted leader of the alliance and our society. Our people must continue to have trust in this eminent organization that has led the struggle for the emancipation of the masses for over 100 years.

We should all be preparing for the upcoming national general elections next year and collectively work to fight against the triple crisis of poverty, inequality and joblessness. We are quite happy to see that the NEC has made some strides in stabilizing the province, following the reinstatement of the ANC Tlokwe Mayor, Maphetle Maphetle. We expect all members to show discipline at all times and for the ANC NEC to enforce it as mandated by the ANC NGC and the 53rd Mangaung National Conference.

The SACP in the province is committed to continuing its historical role of ideological development as a contribution to the ANCs pledge of producing a well rounded, disciplined, politically conscious and competent cadreship.
