TWINS STOLEN FROM GAUTENG HOSPITAL
I am hugely perturbed at the report that new-born twins, a boy and a girl were stolen from George Mukhari Hospital this past Wednesday (see Pretoria News report).
They were born to Mrs Pheladi Magaba on 25 August, but were stolen on the day that she was meant to be discharged.
This follows the theft of a baby from Natalspruit Hospital in July this year.
Hospital security at all hospitals needs to be tightened up to prevent kidnapping of babies.
The Gauteng Health Department spends more than R100 million a year on hospital security, but we are not getting good service for this huge amount of money.
