Economic Freedom Fighters (#EFF) Statement on the Planned Attack on #Syria by USA President Barak#Obama; 04, September, 2013
The world holds its collective breath as we wait the planned bombing of Syria by the United States of America (USA) and its possible allies. Economic Freedom Fighters stands with the international community in opposing USA planned war mongering and destruction. President Obama essentially campaigns for war and indiscriminate bombing of people masqueraded as defending the ideals of peace, democracy and security. We are of the educated opinion that he, and the USA government have no moral standing to claim or defend peace, not after all the major wars of the 21 century have been engineered by the USA in its quest to conquer the world and entrench its imperialism.
The gassing of innocent people in Syria by the warring factions must be condemned, investigated, and those responsible put on trial in an open court and punished. There is no need to rain bombs that would cause more loss of life, particularly indiscriminately.
The crucial question indeed does remain as to who used the chemical weapons in Syria, who so cowardly and cold bloodedly murdered hundreds of innocent people. However, this is no ground to increase further war and loss of innocent life, particularly when UN protocols have not been exhausted. The international community must move collectively, and no one country must be allowed to single handedly decide as to what another country's fate should be.
It should also not be up to President Obama and the USA as to how the Syrian crisis must be resolved. For we know too well that interventions by USA do not bring peace, they have resulted in permanent strife and suffering, more death and pain, whilst the USA and its people continue with their normal lives undisrupted by the terror of war they cause on others. Iraq and Afghanistan wars are the living examples of what has become ‘permanent wars zones' due to America's bossy and street fighter approaches to conflict resolution.
We further remind the international community, but most importantly the American people themselves that the USA and British governments lied to them and the world to justify an illegal war in Iraq. To this day, none of the officials, particularly Gearge Bush and Tony Blair have been held responsible for mass murder and illegal war in these countries. We have also seen recently how the intervention in Libya by President Obama has only created conditions for permanent civil war; Syria and the Syrian people are facing a similar disastrous future under the USA bombing campaign, and death urge.
