We won't be intimidated by Zuma's threats - Economic Freedom Fighters

Malema and friends say President is unable to grasp how SA functions

RESPONSE TO JACOB ZUMA'S THREATS TO TAKE ACTION

13 September 2012

It has come to our attention that in responding to the question of what he is going to do with the protests in the Mines by mineworkers for better salaries, Mr. Jacob Zuma said that there are other people who are involved in the incitement of violence and threatened to take action very soon. So that there is no confusion, if Jacob Zuma thinks that we are intimidated by threats to take action, he must know that we are not intimidated and we will never retreat in our support for all Mineworkers and all people who are downthrodden and poor in South Africa.

The Police, intelligence, and foreign spies have tried since the Marikana massacre to link President Julius Malema to the events before the protests by mineworkers. The police and crime intelligence went to the extent of torturing mineworkers who survived the massacre and got arrested by the police, hoping for non-existent confession that President Julius Malema incited violence and the protests by workers. For Jacob Zuma to join the band of those saying that workers can't think for themselves and that they can't stand against injustice is pure underming of the intelligence and basic human conciousness of mineworkers.

Jacob Zuma and those around him should begin to appreciate that mineworkers are human beings and can think and act on their own without any form of agitation. If there is any action to be taken, it must be against Mines bosses who disregard the provisions of the Mining charter and underpay mineworkers.

As Economic Freedom Fighters and Revolutionaries, we will never stop providing political support to all mineworkers and we will continue to visit Mines and voice the demand for R12.500 per month minimum wage for all Mineworkers. We will never be intimidated by threats of action by people who only think of illegal and illigitimate actions whenever they confront difficult political questions. People must understand that this is no longer in the camps where illegal and unjust actions would be taken against innocent comrades.

Jacob Zuma should be reminded that whichever action he plans to take should be legal and within the South African law and Constitution with independent judiciary, and not like the ANC National Disciplinary Committee and NDC of Appeals where he got his henchmen to expel and suspend Youth League leaders from the ANC for exposing his weaknesses and directionlessness.

If the action Jacob Zuma intends to take is directed at Economic Freedom Fighters, it must be within the law and if it is illegal, he must be ready to face another humiliation because no Court of Law in South Africa will find any wrong-doing in supporting workers.

For a very long time now, we have cautioned South Africa that since Jacob Zuma's ascendence to the country's Presidency, mediocrity is institutionalised and everyday we have to deal with his blunders and inability to understand how South Africa functions. He again exposed himself in Parliament when he said he thinks he has more rights than others because he is majority, forgeting the fundamental principle of equality before the laws for all citizens.

The struggle for economic freedom will never be hampered by the lack of sophistication by Jacob Zuma who is again failing to come with a solution for Mineworkers and choose to bark the wrong tree.

We have tried to illustrate to him and to the ANC for a long time now that the enemy of the revolution is white monopoly capital, not Economic Freedom Fighters and Revolutionaries who are fighting for the economic emancipation of all South Africans and equal distribution of wealth. No amount of threats and intimidation will make us to stop the struggle for economic freedom. No surrender! No retreat! ASIJIKI!
