YCLSA supports Woolworths BCEA and AA stance
The Young Communist League of South Africa [Ufasimba] supports the initiative by retail company Woolworths of ensuring that they comply with the Employment Equity Act (EEA) and all other labour laws of the country in ensuring that they attain equity, redress and that their labour force is representative of the country's demographics in terms of race and gender.
We believe that this initiative is long overdue and should be followed by all other industries and sectors in the economy which still lags behind
"We call on Woolworths to urgently implement this measures and further call on SACCAWU and all other unions in the retail sector to support the initiatives" Buti Manamela YCLSA National Secretary said.
"We hope that the implementation of the EEA will also be extended into granting unions organisational rights and comply with all other Labour Relations Acts(LRA) and Basic Conditions of Employment Act(BCEA)" Manamela said.
For some time now, and for a long time to come (if Woolworths and others do not take this radical transformation), only one racial group will accrue the benefits and advantage of employment, which is the white race
