Zuma has done lots of work on SAPS lease report - Mac Maharaj

President will not take hasty or haphazard decisions on Public Protector's report

President attending to public protector's report

The President has undertaken a lot of work already in response to the public protector report on the alleged maladministration with regards to the leasing of offices for the SAPS.

Unfortunately most of what is being done is at this stage difficult to disclose without prejudicing those affected by the report.

Due process is being followed and people have been given an opportunity to respond as required in terms of the law. The President will make his decision known in due course.

The President takes the report very seriously which is why he has decided not to take hasty or haphazard decisions.

He appreciates the work of the Office of the Public Protector in contributing to fight against corruption.

Statement issued by Mac Maharaj, Presidential Spokesperson, The Presidency, September 12 2011
