DA deeply saddened by COPE MP's death

The Democratic Alliance (DA) is deeply saddened by the sudden death of COPE MP Jack Tolo, and wishes to extend its heartfelt condolences to the leaders and members of COPE, and to Mr Tolo's extended family. Our thoughts are with Mr Tolo's wife and children in particular, who were present during the robbery in which their husband and father was fatally wounded.

Mr Tolo's execution-style murder demonstrates the deep disregard that the perpetrators of this senseless act have for the value of human life. At this time of loss, we must come together as a nation and take a decisive stand against the scourge of violent crime that affects our country, and continues to rob South Africans of their freedom.
